During the last week I tried to lunch my own website. After a very bad
week start, when somebody from Brazil Telecom, my telecom provider,
was talking in my ADSL phone line, I put an initial version of this
site on-line. However, It was only the begin.
During my weblog cultural formation I had a valuable help of Sidnei
that points to me a interesting tool to post messages in my blog using
a command line interface. After some patches, this tool is working in
a resonable way (pulishing content using reST format). The unique
problem that still persists is how the posts title is configured, a
big mistery to me. I will try to fix it latter... For now, take a look
on Sidnei's tutorial. It's quite simple, but does not explain about
the patches :-)
If you looked to this site before and are concerned about where was
the old posts, don't worry. I consider this website a bit beta yet and
things like that could happen. I will start to post definitive content
when I think that It's really done... and It will be soon (I
hope). For now, the content on posts are poor and the site structure
is almost empty (only some old photos and presentations). I will
change this, off course, but who is running against the clock?
If you are concerned about create a weblog, take a look on the
CMFWeblog Product. It's not perfect, but helps a lot. Another good
point to take a look is RSS. Some XML and sematic web concepts will
not kill you, inspite of It's not a trivial subject to talk about. I
learned a lot during this week, but one thing is clear to me: semantic
is still under discussion and a lot of work needs to be done to make
it easy enough for "non-hacker" people. If you have some time, start
looking by my footer banners, in especial the FOAF banner (a really
interesting idea in my opnion).
