Victor Ng programs Python for money, but he'd be programming Python anyway if he was a bum.

Python's Logging module get's a bad rap for being hard.

In fact, I've been hearing that a lot of stuff is 'hard' in Python. Strange - but true.

The documentation is sparse compared to PHP. blah blah blah...

I tuned out pretty quick. I really don't know what the rube was prattling on about.

Some people learn by reading a whole lot of stuff and then they feel like they're not going to screw up so badly that it will end up embarassing them.

Then there's people who like to take sharp sticks and poke other people to see what happens. That's the logging module - and really - that's the essence of Python. Poke at it to see what happens - it's not going to bite!

I can't really take someone seriously when they're complaining that the 10 lines to setup logging is too hard. Have you taken a look at log4j? The short manual is really not that short.

Python's logging module is easy - it's log4j for dummies.
