So, me and my girlfriend (who unfortunately is not that interested in Python) are heading soon to Belgium, to the land of .. um, erm, I don't know, EuroPython? We will be spending few days before the conference in on about don't-know-where-yet, which is to say, we haven't planned nothing much so far. I know this is rather far-fetched, but, if anyone of you, my dear readers, happen to be experts on being a tourist in Belgium, I'd be more than delighted to hear your thoughts on where to visit. I know that we won't have any trouble spending time there, but it would be nice to know beforehand if there's some killer places to check out.

Tom Deprez of EuroPython has been busy interviewing people: an interview with Martijn Faassen and an interview with Tim Couper. Which is nice, because I realized that I literally don't know anyone of those attending the event. I've exchanged couple of mails and IRC comments with few, but that's about it. I must admit that I'm a tad nervous about the whole thing, because I'm a bit shy and with English being the language of communication there mostly, I guess, I can't lighten up the atmosphere with weird jokes and odd humor, because I can't do that in English. And in English, I mostly talk like the used-to-be-F1-driver Mika Häkkinen, the true master of the Finnish non-accent of English, which is actually kind of funny, too, I guess. You know: very .. blunt .. and .. simple .. and .. slow. (Now you can guess where my over-punctuation is coming from.) Oh, and did I remember to mention that most of us Finns have a real low self-esteem? (That's a long story, maybe another time.)

All in all, I would like to meet people there at EuroPython, although I haven't got much original to say on the subject, but on the other hand, I don't bite, and I'm good at listening. (I'm even considering of placing a picture of me here to make you recognize me. Let's see about that later. OK, there's one representative picture of me here.)
