A friend of mine has seasons 3-7 on DVD, so I spent part of the last few months watching most of them again. The verdict? Season 3 was definitely the best season, and it declined from there. Seasons 4 and 5 are still pretty good, with seasons 6 and 7 degenerating into mediocre muck with a few episodes that are truly terrible.
I'd really like to watch Star Trek: DS9 because I haven't seen half or more of the episodes.
