David Black was briefly concerned with the shortage of conference proposals for this year's RubyConf. His fears were unfounded, however. As of last night at around 8pm MDT, there were over 60 proposals submitted. I imagine there were probably some last minute entries as well.
On the subject of conferences, I was thinking out loud on IRC last night, wondering if there's some way to allow conference attendees to vote on the proposals they would like to see. The consensus (I think) was that it was too fraught with logistical and/or fraud problems. I wonder if anyone out there has any experience with this.
