Feed Description: Food for Thought
I'm in the process of relocating to Copenhagen after an interesting year in London. July and August has involved a lot of flying back and forth between the two cities, but I have finally secured myself an apartment in the Nørrebro area of Copenhagen.
At the moment I'm lodging at a friends place in the Christianshavn area of Copenhagen. Next week I'll go back to London to pack my stuff, put it on a lorry and then it's pretty much back to good old Denmark.
I have observed a few interesting things about Copenhagen this time.
I like the rain. The summer in London has been unbelievably hot so the heavy rain in Copenhagen this week feels like a breath of fresh air to me. In January I will probably curse the darkness and the cold once again.
Everything is clean and in working condition. That goes for buildings, lifts, escalators, the streets in general and so forth. Notable exclusions from this are Danish Rail and Copenhagen Airport, but that's not really exceptional when you have lived in England.
The Danes look really healthy. I think Danish people gets more exercise than British people and eat healthier in general.
The cyclists rule the streets. I kid you not. The fastest way of getting around Copenhagen is on bicycle and The Yellow Pages lists approx 500 cycle shops in the Copenhagen area compared to 117 in London.
