This is where you will see how Ruby (and Rails) can scale in load situations. Remember scalability doesn't necessarily mean better performance, it just means it can expand for a wide array of different set ups. I will admit that Ruby isn't that fast, but if you set things up right, you can make it run very nicely in many situations--whether that is a small personal blog or a huge app with thousands of requests per second.
