I had a great time at Genghiscon (a gaming convention) this weekend. This year I took a day off work, opted for the unlimited pass, and gamed my brains out.

Here's the quick summary:

Thursday - Fishermen of Catan and 1856.
Friday - Seafarers of Catan, Empire Builder, Railroad Tycoon
Saturday - Starfarers of Catan, Railroad Tycoon (again), Twilight Imperium III
Sunday - Race for the Galaxy (x3), Napoleonic Wars

Of these only 1856 was a real disappointment. It's more of a stock acquisition game with a rail theme than an actual rail game, and I found it tedious and long for what it was. The rest were at least enjoyable, if not downright fun. :)

I also spent some time checking out the miniatures room and the vending area, as well as just futzing around, and checking out the other games.

I think at the next Tacticon I'm going to host a few wargames, as there was a serious lack of them this year and every one of them (that I saw) were filled up, and many people were turned away. Clearly the demand exceeded the supply this year.
