I realized recently that I had a gap in my audio collection. I had no ELO! Travesty!
Thinking about this at home, I remembered that I loved the music from the Xanadu soundtrack. Hey, I said I loved the music, not the movie, mmkay? Plus, I was 10 years old when the movie came out, so shut up.
Ok, I'll admit that I do like the opening bit where the muses come to life from the mural and dance around to ELO's I'm Alive. Naturally, I found that scene on YouTube. For kicks I thought I'd look up Xanadu on Wikipedia and, among other things, see who the dancers were.
One name stood out - Sandahl Bergman. You remember her, right? She played opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Barbarian and had a minor acting career. I had forgotten she was a dancer before getting into acting. Sure enough, she's the 4th muse to come to life in the scene. In fact, she's probably the best dancer in that scene.
So, anyway, back to the music. I now have I'm Alive, All Over The World, The Fall, and Don't Walk Away.
