I finally got my microwave fixed after being out of commission for several months. It turned out to be a bad circuit board. It took 3 visits from the GE repair guys to get it fixed. First time, could not duplicate issue. Second time, bad replacement board. Third time was the the charm.

In the meantime I was using the oven to melt cheese over my nachos and heat up my leftovers. There was one casualty, however. It turns out that certain plastic containers than can sit in the microwave nearly indefinitely will melt very quickly in an oven. Let us discuss this no further.
