Only a short time ago I setup my laptop to be a dual boot Ubuntu/Vista system. At first, it worked well. The wireless worked (yay!) and the Ubuntu interface was pretty nice. But, all was not well.
The power management is broke. Every time the laptop would sleep or hibernate the wireless would die. I tried a few things, like restarting the network stack, and even restarting the OS, but they didn't work. The only solution was to boot into Vista, then boot back into Ubuntu. That little dance seemed to reset the network card for some reason.
However, even this solution eventually failed. It seems (and I'm guessing somewhat here) that every time the power management kicked in it was actually causing some sort of kernel failure behind the scenes. This eventually destabilized the image, and now I can no longer boot into Ubuntu at all.
