I'm looking to upgrade my DirecTV setup to receive HDTV (I've had the video & sound gear for awhile). I've read a few reviews in Home Theater Magazine about the best equipment, but I thought I read somewhere that a newer HD DVR model with all the bells & whistles was coming out soon.

Specifically, I'm looking for a DirecTV DVR that can:

1. Record from multiple sources (2 LNBs in for record & view at the same time)
2. Ability to output 480p or 1080i, regardless of the program (up-converting)
3. Ability to output via component (or s-video) to record to analog DVD (I don't think there's a way to digital record yet)
4. 60-100 hours HD recording capability
5. Would prefer DD 5.1 coax out, but optical is acceptable, if necessary

If you've got experience with this kind of equipment, I'd like to here what your thoughts are on what you have and why it's good/bad. Plus, if you could change 1 thing about your setup now that you've got it, what would it be?

Some of the other cable company's are starting to really suck. They want to raise their rates in order to keep some of their popular channels and they also continue to get rid of channels that we all watch the most. I just switched to direct tv when my cable company threatened to get rid of Fox! That is just crazy! Sattelite tv is just way better anyways. You can get tons of discounts and rebates. If you sign up now and use acct # 38107538 as a reference you will receive a FREE portable dvd player!!!!!!!! Call 1-866-433-8869 to get this special offer. I used to have direct tv a long time ago then I got sucked into the whole digital cable thing and I regret it. I am glad to be back with direct tv. Join me. 8-) 8-)

Well said Tammy. DirecTV is indeed the best Satellite TV service provider in the US. I received installation of a 4-room DirecTV system alongwith the subscription, there was no need to buy any costly equipments.
There are absolutely no interruptions as DirecTV delivers a digital signal 99.9% of the time. I also ordered a high-speed Internet connection with the service.
The most important benefit is that my cable & internet bills have reduced and DirecTV is the only Satellite TV provider in the US to provide NDTV 24x7, the best Indian news channel.

NDTV 24x7 provides up–to–the–minute, 24/7 news with unparalleled coverage of the latest in international news and DirecTV's unmatchable picture and sound quality compliment the experience.
