It's my birthday today. Yes, I'm 43. My greatest pleasure is the love that surrounds me. My son Jonathan made a huge birthday poster for me and even made breakfast! My two year old Heather singing Happy Birthday to me. You know what? When you're young and foolish, you just burn like a super-nova in your jobs and the scene, not realizing the scarred ruins around you. Then you begin to realize the advantages of the win-win and building true relationships. You grow up, you learn that people are what makes projects and the world happen, not technology. You realize friends and family are everything. I am proud today that dear friends from three different former companies honor me by their presence at my birthday party, including my dear friend Robert, Kit and their family that have been there every step of the way. I have realized the love that surrounds me. My son sits at my side as I write this (after having typed my name into a Google search!) and my daughter twirls behind to the Red Hot Chile Peppers. My wife Sue is throwing a huge bash with her usual loving touches. So I celebrate today not getting one year older but getting one year smarter, one year more loving.
