Just to follow up on my rants from last week:

  • Commercials - Gerry makes a good point about commercials no longer advertising a product but instead competing to get your attention
  • Cars at Employee Prices - Damon makes a good point about CEO compensation no longer being tied to company performance.  In addition to his examples, I think the airline industry is an excellent examples.  It's receiving multi-billion dollar bail-outs from the government and most companies have been in bankruptcy for the past several years - with several lay-off rounds - yet the executives continue to receive bonuses, perks and golden parachutes.  I'm a big fan of capitalism, but not when it's stupid.
