This was a really good movie. I've always been a fan of Deniro, and he didn't
disappoint.
Since Ed pointed out that I shouldn't spoil
movies, I'll make sure to keep this review generic.
The movie is a good thriller. After a tragic family accident, Deniro and his
daughter movie to a quiet town to get their lives on track. The daughter ends
up developing an imaginery friend to help cope with the trauma...and some freaky things
start happening. Throw in some really weird neighbors, a spooky house, a creepy
looking little girl (his daughter)...and you've got a good movie!
There's a really good twist to the movie (as expected)...if not just a little predictable.
The ending is great - and if you get the DVD, there are alternate endings, too.
If you get it, make sure to watch it in the dark. It won't disappoint.
I wouldn't rank it as one of the top thrillers, but it was pretty darn good!
As a side note, we watched it with some friends. Afterwards, one of our friends
taught my two year old daugther to chant “Charlie, Charlie, Charlie”.
These are the types of things we do to each other for fun. ;-) If you see the
movie, you'll know what I'm talking about. The other night, about midnight,
my daughter and I were up watching TV...and she started chanting it - freaked me
out. Needless to say, our friend has it coming....
