PDC Bloggers is "a community of developers blogging their thoughts and experiences of the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference." For me, the amazing thing is how much of my technology they're using. If you had showed me this site two years ago I never would have believed it. However I gotta say there's quite a bit of funk in some of those feeds. This is what I worry about, a lot -- Microsoft reinventing the formats we use and then turning them to dust. To be clear, I also worry about IBM, Google and SixApart, although it's less fashionable to do so.[Scripting News]
What does this have to do with Microsoft? Yes, the conference is about Microsoft products, but non of the blog software used for these blogs was created by Microsoft. (yes, I know BlogX was created by a MS employee). People will simply adapt to whatever format works best for them (some like simplicity others like features). At last count, about 30 or so of the blogs listed on the PDC Bloggers site are using a .Text based blog, I have only added “funk” when asked by end users, which like it or not, drive “real“ formats.
Although, I did score an ENTJ on the Myers-Briggs test, but that does not make me a Microsoft employee :)
