Sony announced at IFA 2005 [1] in Berlin last week the world's first 10.3 effective Megapixel digital still camera DSC-R1 [2] that combines a large 10.3 effective Megapixel CMOS sensor, and a high quality 24mm-120mm (equivalent to 35m format camera) ZEISS zoom lens in the same body. The Sony R1 digital camera will be available throughout Europe from mid- November 2005. Jingle bell, jingle bell ... ;-)
