News: the IASA is preparing to launch a series of Knowledge Communities alongside the new website. Knowledge Communities are pools of specific content around a specific architecture topic maintained by experts in that field. Some planned communities for 2005 include:

  • Interoperability - Architecture Quality Attribute
  • Performance - Architecture Quality Attribute
  • Dynamic Business Rules - Architecture Building Block
  • Web Frameworks - Architecture Building Block
  • Persistence - Architecture Building Block

Imagine having a place to go which maintains the most relevant content, links, and resources for the problems you encounter on a daily basis. "I can't tell you how many times I had to write persistence option comparisons for projects at different companies.", said an IASA member in Austin. "Everytime I would do the same thing, EJB vs. POJO Frameworks vs. JDBC." Well we hope to at least ease the burden.
