I did a DSI/SDM and Whitehorse talk at Code Camp IV. I found the System Definition Model to be a very rich and powerful model for representing systems as well as application modeling, much more so than UML 2.0. Check out Bill Gibson's post on SDM which seems like it might be the start of a series.
