Google continues to amaze me. They do the same things that everyone else has
been doing for a long time, but manage to apply some creative improvements. Google's
GMail is a major shift in the way you read and handle email. Other great
tools include Google Maps, Google Desktop, Google
Earth, AJAX...the list goes on.
Now they've released an awesome tool for reading RSS feeds: Google
Reader. Great tool with a great interface, similar in many ways to GMail
(labels, stars, etc.).
Something else along those lines is Microsoft's new start.com.
I have a sneaking suspicion that you're gradually going to see a consolidation in Google's
interfaces, such as a unified view for email, alerts and RSS feeds. Hmmm...can
someone say Google Portal?
While you're at it, check out Google Alerts,
another neat new service.
