Ok, I admit, I am a huge fan of World of Warcraft. This week, BlizzCon is taking place, Blizzard's convention community for showcasing upcoming games - including the "Burning Crusade" add-on for WoW.

One highlight is the BlizzCon goodie bag that all participants get, containing the key to a WoW in-game baby-murloc pet. I was checking ebay for people who don't want that pet and yes, they are on sale up there.

I would have loved to adopt a lonely baby-murloc, but I didn't expect the average closing bid of around USD 300 for just the pet or USD 500 for the entire goodie-bag... I'll stick to my mechanical squirrel, for now.

It's starting to look as if WoW is evolving from an MMORPG to a real cult.

The baby-murloc, maybe the most expensive virtual pet.
