Earlier versions of .NET had some very nice tracing facilities, but getting full information for events was sometimes difficult or very labor-intensive. Among the many other wonderful additions to .NET 2.0 is a much more advanced tracing facility, most of which is implemented in the System.Diagnostice.TraceSource class. It makes outputting trace information much easier.
