Well, thanks to my dear friend Andr
Obelink, I've been tagged and am now a participant in the blogsphere
version of Tag. Jeff Pulver started this meme and now we're all in.
Reading my blog you probably noticed that I spend a huge portion of my time traveling
around the world and seriously learning all about cooking and cuisine and restaurants
and ... but heres my Five Things You Didnt Know About Me":
I live in Germany (in Bavaria or even more precisely in Franconia, THE place to be
if you're a beer fan) but I don't like beer. I never did. I will be grateful my whole
life to the person who invented a "Radler" (a mixture of beer and lemonade).
This saved my life many times before ...
I have been drawing comics since I was four years old, but I never managed to decide
what to do in my spare time working on large-format paintings on canvas or working
on the completion of a one hundred page comic book. Nevertheless I earned a lot of
money in my teen age drawing popular comics and most of my friends own my personal
comic remark..:-)
One thing that changed my life CNET Networks, an indispensable source of knowledge
about internet, profiled me as one of the most interesting- and influential-people
shaping the digital world in year 1995... Bill Clinton too This award seriously changed
my whole (short term) future and turned me into a addicted netizen and a dotcom guy.
A few years later I was cured ... but this is another story. ;-)
Before becoming involved in the Windows world in late nineties, I spent years developing
and debugging Unix software (AT&T,
Unisys, SINIX, HPUX, AIX, Sun, etc.) and working on those systems as well... During
my study at the University I was even responsible for our local computer center (CIP-Pool if
you're German and this means something to you) equipped by Hewlett Packard with HPUX
machines. I wrote several manuals on TeX/LaTeX and
DVI and I felt in love with SGI workstations.
I hate bourne shell and I
love tc shell. I had a fortune in
my login script and I produced a bus
error core dump on a Unisys machine with my very own code. Strike! In my
office there is a claim No RISC,
no fun!
I grew up with a bunch of soccer players but I became a very passionate basketball
player. I used to play in a team but an ankle injury destroyed my basketball dreams
many years ago.
