Just installing the Podcasting Kit for SharePoint on my Hyper-V image and wanted sound to be working. However, Hyper-V doesnt support a sound card.
Solution is ... rather than use the Hyper-V connection, instead use Remote Desktop client and enable sound remoting under the advanced configurations options.
I also had to ... - start the Windows Audio service - go into Terminal Services Configuration, select the RDP-Tcp connection, select the Client settings tab and ensure Audio Redirection was not disabled.
