Not that long ago Nick Bradbury, the creator of FeedDemon, wrote that Feeddemon would require Atom feeds to be well-formed along with the creator of NetNewsWire. You probably know the rest of the story, lots of people supported them, lots of people said they should deal with the crappy feeds, etc. etc.

I saw this story today along with the accompanying blog entry and I thought about how it applies to this situation and decision. The decisions that the authors of the most popular feed readers make now will affect whoever is writing readers for the next 10 years.

For the record I support Nick and Brent, it is the responsible thing to do.
