Based on Isaac Asimov's book, I, Robot is a new movie with Will Smith.

I have read Asimov since I was 9 years old, one of my favourite sci-fi writers.

The Three Laws according to the movie trailer. (shortened for impact!)
  • They cannot hurt us
  • they must do what we say
  • they can protect themselves

According to the book they are actually phrazed like these below (pay attention to no.3 as it is left out in the movie trailer):
  • A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
  • A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
  • A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
