Microsoft blogging is great. You can not get enough news from the mothership and hopefully they will continue the trend.

Although MS was probably not the first company to start blogging, there does seem to be more and more tech companies blogging, which I think in some way should be attributed to Microsoft's push.

At Tech-Ed I had a chance to meet Barry Gervin. His company ObjectSharp has a couple consultants blogging here*. Why Microsoft can share lots of information around using its products and let you know what is coming in the future, the consultants building solutions with these products have a great deal of information as well. I think it great that not only does a company like ObjectSharp encourage blogging (I am assuming they encourage it), but they are also providing the web space/tools as well. Hopefully, this trend will continue to grow.

In addition, in recent weeks new companies like ThinkTecture and PluralSite have also shown up with "blogs" on the homepage.

* As Sam mentioned, notable community members/bloggers John Lam and Marcie Robillard have joined the ObjectSharp team.
