I picked up The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time while over in London and read it on the flight back to the states. It is another story told in the first person by a 15-year old kid, like VGL, but this time the narrator has Asperger Syndrome, a high level of autism. Needless to say it is pretty interesting to read a book narrated by an autistic boy, he numbers the chapters only with prime numbers, and talks about how he counts cars on the way to school to determine what kind of day it is going to be.
The story is thinly veiled as a mystery where the boy is trying find out who killed a neighbors dog, but it is really about him and how his condition affects his family. The book is a little too sentimental and cute at times, but it was a pretty quick read and was definitely different.
