Kurt Vonnegut is my all time favorite author, so when a friend told me that he had written a new article I was very interested. The article is called Cold Turkey and is about the current state of our nation. Even if I did not like the content I would enjoy reading it because his style is so unique and refreshing, but as it turns out I love the content as well. Vonnegut makes alot of excellent points in the article, I especially love how he compares our pushing of democracy to the same push made by the Europeans with christianity.
If you have a couple minutes go read it, if nothing else it is a piece of work from one of our great literary minds.
And I can already hear what alot of people will say, it's not about that... it's about terrorism, blah, blah, blah...it is becoming scary how polarized our country is becoming. It's no longer about what you think, it's about what you believe in. Its becoming a fight between religious and non-religious.... oh well... I need to start a political blog. (I will work on it this weekend)
