Former President Reagan passed away today so I figured I would tell my own little Reagan story.

When I was about 8 years old I was chosen to present to Ms. Reagan the "Just Say No" pledges from our school. I got to go and stand in front of a ton of cameras in the rose garden and say stuff to her and then shake her hand. I got to watch myself on TV, get some photos, and take a tour of the white house. I remember the thing I found the most interesting was that when they opened the garden to the press they all came running in and jumped up on a table and setup in like under a minute, I thought that was so cool. (It actually became very ironic in my high school years that I had given my "Just Say No" pledge to the first lady, but that's another story.)

She was very nice to us, and I was even invited back to the White House again when she came back from her surgery, I think because they thought it would be nice to have some of the kids there. We got to watch the president and the first lady jump out of a chopper and go into the White House but that was about it.

Reagan was an interesting president, for most of my young life he was the only president that I really knew. Looking back I don't agree with alot of his choices, but I always respected him....
