Ever since the original edition of Code Complete came out in 1993, it has gone without saying that every serious developer must and has read this book. Never in one volume were collected so many best software construction practices. Well, finally the Second Edition has come (it was listed as June 1, 2004 Amazon). This will be, again, the standard book in the field, and the one that I expect every person I interview or work with it has read. If you own only one software book, this should be it.
