Now that the DAAB 3.0 has an implementation of the Abstract Factory Pattern, it makes much more sense to use and since I am not in an ES environment, it makes even more sense. It looks like there is an RC1 release. I am using the code with a variety of data sources and I have recompiled the code base for Whidbey, without incident except in some test areas. I also have been working on getting a DAAB ported to the Whidbey Compact Framework with a provider for SQL CE 3.0. With the abstract factory and interfaces approach, it's pretty much straightforward for anyone to add another data source.
