As a follow-on to this, we are getting started. The Downtown Boston.NET User Group begins July 1st at 5:00pm at Adesso in the financial district. We have large conference facilities here with projection screens and such. By group request, I will be doing my CLR Internals presentation. Huge thanks go to my boss Phil for seeding this idea and making it part of my job and John for strongly supporting it. I want to especially thank Kevin Hegg (no blog yet) who is serving as our speaker liaison and is lining up speakers for the fall as we speak. I also want to thank Jason for organizing the initial blogger dinner that produced the group. Special thanks also go to Julie, Chris Pels and Thom Robbins (MSFT) for their amazing amount of help and advice. Adesso will pick up pizza for the first meeting but we are looking for other sponsors. We will also do the work to get into INETA so we can get their quality speakers and free pizza of course-) A web site is also being worked on. I will be the UG leader. We have no shortage of volunteers so we will be discussing how they and you can get involved at the July meeting. We especially want to engage the large pool of corporate developers in Boston's financial district. Also, I want to state that we will be working very closely with Chris's Boston.NET group to share speakers and many other areas. We will meet the 1st week so that you may also attend their meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month. We highly encourage you to go to both meetings (in fact, I highly recomend that you go see Deborah Kurata's OO presentation Auguest 8th) if you can and actually as many in the area as you can.
