TechEd Europe opens tomorrow and Microsoft will roll out the first official beta of Visual Studio 2005 ('Whidbey'). There will be the announcement of a new addition to the Visual Studio 2005 family - the 'Express' range which will be lightweight, easy to use, easy to learn tools for students and hobbyists who want to build dynamic Windows applications and Web sites. The Express range will include Visual Web Developer 2005, VB 2005, Visual C# 2005, and SQL Server 2005.
Another new member is Visual Studio 2005 Team System which was announced last month - this is an extensible life-cycle tools platform that helps software teams collaborate to reduce the complexity of delivering software solutions. Demos
The betas for Visual Studio 2005 should be available very shortly for MSDN subscribers.
