I raved about the coming of Code Complete 2nd Edition back on 6/8 and how every developer must have a copy. I now have had it for about a week and am about 1/2 way through it. I dare say it's even better than the first. Updated to use “modern languages” like C++ and Java, it's absoluetly the definitive book on software construction. The only minor thing is how little XP and Agile practices are mentioned but since this is a software construction book and not a software methodology book that is understandable. I also known Steve doesn't exactly have a fond spot in his heart for many things agile, but he does mention them in a good light where they apply. There are still things for me to learn reading this. Highest recomendation!
