ahh, can you smell it. Take a step back, its finally here, Beta Season!

I will skip the hoopla, and jump right to what I know.

Visual Web Dev and SQL Server Express are great tools.

Visual Web Dev

Visual Web Dev will be primarily targeted to those just getting started with ASP.Net. There is a lot to learn in Visual Studio. In fact, there is so much to learn that many features just get in the way for those you really need.

However, I also think this will be a great tool for those projects you just need to get done. Proof of concepts applications, fun projects, intranet tools, etc. It is rapid development + the web at its best.

SQL Server Express (aka, "the death of MSDE")

In short (and very simplified view), you take the Sql 2005 data engine and add x-copy deployment.
