Like Mike, I totally find it amusing all the people that think this revolutionary and even great. Google's “product” exemplifies all the worst traits of a thin browser based solution - clue Google, I don't want to search in a Web Browser, I want a Smart Client. Well, my ex brother-in-law started X1 as one of his companies and he and his sister Marcee Kleinman (X1 Product Maanger) briefed me and the family on it a few months ago. X1 has all that agressive speedy lookup technology that Bill poured into Lotus Magellan, a product that people still yearn for 15 years later. It blows Google Desktop away. because its so fast, it finds anything in Outlook and the file system, the split second you type the first character of your search item. Jim Blizzard has a good list of reasons. No stupid web browser where you have to go through it's interface and do the extra work of clicking on the link. Of course, Google Desktop has the advantage that it is free but it is neither revolutionary nor the best. I've deleted it from my hard drive.

Disclosure: I am a stockholder in IdeaLab.
