I was in Barcelona few weeks ago to meet others european community leaders (Connect event) and one exciting project: CodeZone.

Doug Seven has posted the CodeZone platform vision. I still have personal doubts on the success of a worldwide community. After all we have so many cultural differences between each continent, so I am more for a model working at a country level or eventually at a continent level (Europe, US, Asia, Africa, etc...)

And how the language barrier will be solved ?
 
However the idea to federate communities is an interesting one, at the condition that this happens from the community. I can see some missing pieces in Doug's diagram, like the position of Microsoft in that stuff.

Good concept but far from being finished. I am going to work anyway with Microsoft on having an Irish local version like the one in Germany.
