Boy did we have fun today. A bunch of .NET geeks (including Manzi, Wela, Pras, Jinath to name a few) , met up today at the CNT office to setup the software for the demos and presentations that we’ll be holding at ASOCIO under the Microsoft banner.

Microsoft Sri Lanka gave us, the .NET community, a free hand and let us take ownership for covering the Microsoft Community and .NET technologies at the convention. We called for volunteers on the dotnetforum.lk  and there was a really good response with all 15 volunteer slots being taken up.

Today all of us met up and fooled around setting up the really cool WeRock247 demo suite of applications on all the machines. We also had a lot of fun coming up with a game plan on doing the demos and presentations. Some of the other stuff that we’ll be featuring will be the .NET port of Quake II (for geeks take a look at the /. thread on the port), Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 plus much more.

The whole team will be meeting on Monday evening to do the final setup of the machines and putting together the Tablet PC, Pocket PC and SmartPhone parts of the application.

So make your way down to ASOCIO next week and you’ll meet us right as you get in (that’s right we’ll be the first you’ll see, check out the floor plan)!!

I’ll be blogging more updates through next week so stay tuned…
