The Regulator will mostly be unusable to you if you work as a non-admin.
Here's what I wrote as a comment to his post:
 
This issue is something I've been looking into for quite a while but, most sincerely, I've never been too motivated to switch over to. Perhaps it's time I take a long hard look at the issue and try and make my way towards that goal.
