I had a great first night here at HDC in Des Moines hooking up with Kent Tegels, Robert, Adam, Rocky, MattJeff and others for our reception. We of course beeing geeks set up the obligatory wireless network in Kent's hotel room. I had a fascinating 2 and 1/2 hour free-ranging conversation with Rocky which started with SOA and went everywhere else. I don't want to give it away for attendees who will have the keynote in an hour and 1/2 from now but lets just say that he is skepetical on SOA. Rocky and I both (in technology) go back to the DEC VAX/VMS days, myself having spent 6 years at Digital in the 80's and we had a great conversation on SOA and .NET coming back to some of the ways of VMS and languages operating on a product family as well as talking quite a bit on N-Tier/N-Layer Architectures, COM+, etc.  It was a great conversation I wish I had recorded. Looking forward to his keynote and the day.
