It's great to see so many technologists come together to try and help with the relief effort.

Rich Claussen has put together a great list of agencies that could use your donations, along with ideas on how to get your employer and others involved.  If you're looking for a place to start, I'd visit his blog.

Paschal was actually on vacation in Thailand when the Tsunami hit.  He's helping to route emails for friends and family to the appropriate agencies if they're trying to find someone.  In addition, he and his wife have been manning help desks and helping people look for their loved ones.  He also recommends that anyone with vacation plans not cancel them, since the region desperately needs the tourism to recover.

DotNetIndia has done a lot to assist in the search and relief effort, to include setting up a blog specifically for finding loved ones, posting free SMS providers for affected areas, and soliciting supplies.

Please do what you can to help.  It's hard to think I'm typing on a blog in my comfortable office, when some people have lost their entire family and possessions...heartbreaking.  It makes you wonder how some people find the strength to carry on?  Any assistance that you can provide will help them to rebuild their lives.
