We recently bought Shrek 2 for my daughter, who is 2 years old.  She's in the age group where they fall in love with one movie and want to watch it over and over...so we watch it over and over and over.  I think the movie is great, but it irritates the smack out of me that EVERY TIME I put in the DVD, I have to forward through 5 minutes of previews.

Why do companies insist on forcing you to watch the same previews over and over?  I can't go straight to the menu...I can't skip to the next track...the only thing I can do is manually fast forward through the previews.  Now, I've not only memorized Shrek 2 (trust me, I've seen it enough times), but also the trailers for Shark Tales and Madagascar.  And, I imagine 2 years from now, when both movies are long past their prime, I'll still be fast forwarding through them.

It's like having to watch a Toyota commercial everytime you start your car.  DVDs provide so many neat new features, but companies feel compelled to stick to their old marketing tricks.  Frustrating.

Ok, I feel better now. :-)
