After waiting a really really long time I finally broke down and bought an Audiovox 5600. I have been looking to buy one for some time, but I really wanted a clamshell design. After hearing about the problems with the one I was waiting for (Mpx220), I decided to just settle for the candy bar format and pick up the Audiovox.
Since I am not an AT&T/Cingular customer, the phone was going to set me back about $350 on Amazon... so I snagged one off of ebay instead for $230. After I get the phone I will still have to pay to unlock it, which looks to cost about $20 or so. So total cost will be about $250.
The other reason that I am finally making the jump is that I found someone who provides exchange accounts for a reasonable price. Interaction with exchange is one of the coolest features of the MS Smartphone platform.
