Incredible but true, after setting up my new server which is hosting my domain and serving this weblog among many other tasks (it's also a PDC, a file server, an ASP.NET web application server, an SQL 2000 server, an Exchange 2003 server, all ISA firewalled) in September 2003, today was the first time, this system died. It just hung itself up while I was at the office, giving a three-hour-speech on Windows Server 2003 high availability (!)

I was chewing my fingers the whole day, wondering what might have happened to my system - I was still able to ping my router, so I knew I couldn't blame my ISP as usual.

After a reboot all was back to normal and I am not getting any errors.

Thinking of it, the system has been running without any problems or a single crash since September 4, 2003 which is:

519 days or 12456 hours or 747360 minutes or 44841600 seconds

I am very satisfied when I look at these numbers - and I found out once again how much I depend on this system!

Sorry to anyone who tried to reach the server today in vain.
