I don't often blog about music, but I was chatting with my wife about Supertramp today and it reminded me of a little-known piece of trivia about their album "Even in the Quietest Moments".
The album cover is a piano on a mountain covered in snow. On the piano is some sheet music with the works "Fools Overture" scribbled at the top. Fools Overture is a song from the album. Since I liked the album a lot, I bought the sheet music. Then I took a closer look at the music on the piano. It was in 3/4 time while the sheet music for Fools Overture was in 4/4 time. Something was up.
I started following the music and discovered that it wasn't Fools Overture afterall. It happened to be "The Star Spangled Banner" with the words "Fools Overture" written at the top. There's a subtle message for you.
