While wishing Vassili the best of luck, and being very happy for him in his new position at Cadence, and his excitement about it, we're really sorry to see him go. Me especially, as I enjoyed the short time we had to feed off of each other's ideas.

One of his long lasting legacies will be not only the various tool improvements and polish and novel ideas, but his finesse as a graphic artist. He did a lot to modernize the look of VisualWorks simply via all of the icons he did over the years.

One of the things we've been migrating towards is more and more use of icons on class types to help recognition. One of Vassili's latest creative works, that didn't get a chance to make it through to 7.5, was a new set of class icons. We both agreed before he left, that it would still be nice to get them out in the public and let people play with them. They've been published to the Open Repository as "VassilisIcons" under version '0 - preview."
