I see one of the clueless state senators in NY wants to ban the use of things like iPods while you're in the crosswalk. His rationale?

New York State Sen. Carl Kruger says three pedestrians in his Brooklyn district have been killed since September upon stepping into traffic while distracted by an electronic device. In one case bystanders screamed "watch out" to no avail.

Here's what I want to know: Is he going to ban reading while in the crosswalk? How about eating and drinking? Perhaps talking to other people? Daydreaming?

I have a cold, hard truth for the senator - it's a dangerous world, and he can't protect everyone from everything in it. Not unless he wants to hire watchers for every street corner, bathtub, and intersection.
