Apparently, the folks down at the RIAA never passed reading comprehension classes back in elementary school - they think Jobs was offering to license FairPlay. Engadget reports:

the RIAA issued a response today lauding Apple's offer to license FairPlay as a "welcome breakthrough" that would be a "real victory for fans, artists and labels."

Here's Jobs' open letter - does anyone other than the morons at the RIAA read it that way?
