While Joseph Pelrine was here in Canberra an interesting conversation arouse around the idea of a Ward number. You may have heard of the Bacon number - the number of links from any actor through movies to Kevin Bacon. Well there's also a Ward number - the number of links from a pair programming session back to Ward Cunningham.

My Ward number is two. Joseph paired with Ward and I paired with Joseph. That pretty much gives most Smalltalkers who've ever worked at Wizard Information Services a Ward number of three. What's your Ward number?
